However, it was about 1:00 am, and this was a pilgrimage to what's become much more of a shrine than a cemetery. This is where Jim Morrison of the Doors is laid to rest.

Jim Morrison was unique. He lived hard so we did not need to. I believe that there are those amongst us who enjoy life on the edge for the sole purpose of conveying that encounter for everyone else.

I do not believe they make a conscious decision to do so, but the circumstances of their existence drew them to it. They embody a collusion of expertise, freedom, credibility and forum. From this mixture, fate then intercedes and legends are cast.

His fixation was with a mystic dimension that seemingly co-existed with deep reality and his motivation was to channel it.
